Believing that "extraordinary bloodlust" will lead to his full recovery, his sister, Shizuka Taira, takes her brother on a brutal "rehabilitation" journey against the most formidable foes!

Nagi, riding a hyper-modified wheelchair and taking on the deadliest assassins! I can still never forget the excitement and dizzying thrill I felt when I first encountered the original manga with such an incredible impact. We have been working on this anime to this day, teaming up closely with the original creator, Yashiro-sensei.
Above all, this work is a story of 'Bonds' woven by various siblings. The unbreakable bond between a brother and sister, born from the time spent living together. They don't go out of their way to put it into words because it's a bit embarrassing, but they always care for each other somewhere deep down. Such siblings are Nagi and Shizuka, who find themselves at the mercy of fate within a ruined dystopia.
The characters are as unique and somewhat strange as Nagi and Shizuka. It is also a story about these somewhat imperfect characters living their lives with everything they've got. Above all, it is unique yet universal. Comical and pop, yet somehow scary and brutal!? You can laugh out loud, yet it is deeply serious. Please enjoy this uniquely dense drama like nothing you've seen before.

I’ve encountered something truly 'insane.' The dark hero TANK CHAIR set in the lawless land of ' Guicheng Island,' we’re going to show you some bloody, gripping violence and action. We’re going to depict the 'Bonds' of the protagonists, the siblings Nagi and Shizuka. And those aren't the only bonds we're portraying. We're drawing the love, friendship, fate, and curses—both positive and negative—of everyone surrounding the main characters. Manabu Yashiro-sensei is incredible. The more you read into it, the more you realize how condensed and deeply depicted the world and its relationships are in TANK CHAIR. Based on that original work, the cast and staff are working as one to add even more appeal for the anime adaptation. Stay tuned and keep your eyes peeled! Even those of us making it are in awe.

For Polygon Pictures productions, he served as Episode Director and Storyboard Artist for Knights of Sidonia, and Assistant Director for the GODZILLA anime film series (Parts 2 and 3). His directorial works include "Gambo" from the anthology film Short Peace, Ajin: Demi-Human (film trilogy and TV series), LISTENERS, and Kaina of the Great Snow Sea (TV series and film).

I am truly happy that the time has finally come to announce the anime adaptation of TANK CHAIR.
When I first read the manga, I was immediately struck by the individuality of its look. The stimulating colors and the presence of characters unlike anything I had ever seen before. Just as the protagonist Nagi awakens, a bolt of lightning flashed through my brain.
As a character designer, I am taking an approach different from my previous works. Since the setting itself has such an incredible personality, I focused on matching the world-building and aimed for an expression where Yashiro-sensei’s sensibility fills the entire screen. In the early stages of production, we created visuals while exploring various ideas with the directors, production designer, and art director. I believe the fact that the entire team was able to look in the same direction is reflected in the work itself.
It is a work that possesses both delicacy and momentum, so I hope you will first enjoy it instinctively without overthinking!

Born in 1986. A designer and art director. He served as the character designer for the Knights of Sidonia series, Ajin: Demi-Human, BLAME!, and the Past Myth arc of AQUARION Myth of Emotions. Expanding his creative scope, he also handled the character design and art direction for Pacific Rim: The Black, as well as the production design for Drifting Dragons.

Production Designer
Kazuma Teshigahara
Production Design may be a term you're not familiar with, but it's a role that involves coordinating with the directors to oversee the overall visual style and world-building of the work. While TANK CHAIR features an assassin as the protagonist and is set in the decaying city of Guicheng Island —themes that could easily feel bleak—the world created by Yashiro-sensei is incredibly colorful, graphical, and left a vivid impression on me. 'We want to express this visual impact of color in the anime as well!' With that in mind, we are putting a tremendous amount of effort into the use of color for this project. I hope it becomes a work that stays in everyone's hearts.
Kazuma Teshigahara
He joined Polygon Pictures in 2010. A character designer and art director. He provided CG character designs for the Street Fighter series and Fist of the Blue Sky: Regenesis. In recent years, his work has included production design for Kaina of the Great Snow Sea (TV series and film), as well as character design and art direction for Star Wars: Visions Volume 3 "The Bird of Paradise".

Music
Masaru Yokoyama
With "the 'darkness', 'colorfulness' and raw 'anger' of TANK CHAIR, under Director Tadahiro “Tady” Yoshihira, I am creating music that leaps and runs wild. The quiet world where Nagi and Shizuka live, and the overwhelming sense of a lawless land behind it—please experience it through the sound along with the visuals.
Masaru Yokoyama
In addition to composing music for visual media such as anime, TV dramas, and films, he also provides music for idol groups, including Momoiro Clover Z. Making it his life's work to record around the world and construct sounds using custom-made sampling materials, he constantly seeks out a unique musical identity while moving freely between the worlds of orchestral and electronic music.

Complex mechanics, strange monsters, cluttered cities, and absurd action... These are the things I love. And TANK CHAIR is where I did all of that. However, I always thought, 'It would be so hard to animate, so it’ll probably never happen...'
But! The team at Polygon Pictures made it happen!! Directors Tady and Ando, along with the rest of the staff, have sublimated the essence of the original work into an incredible visual experience with terrifying passion and technical skill.
Nagi, Shizuka, Dr. Radio, Naozumi, Touko, Uzu, Sensei... everyone is so cute and cool.
I hope you are all looking forward to seeing TANK CHAIR run wild across the screen!
